So, how did we all feel about The Late Late Toy Show last week? Can you believe it’s the 5th of December already? We’re getting ever closer to the main event and, as such, we have another little list of suggestions for the festive prep!
1: Time to do the Tree
If you haven’t already, any time over the next week is a good time to get the tree up and decorate around the house. Below are a few shots of us putting up our own Michael Murphy Home Furnishing tree (back in July, if you can imagine), filled with faux flowers for an alternative take on seasonal decor. Beautiful blush pinks were our base, pulling in complementary tones to build the surrounding scene.
We also had a stunning wreath dressed with frosted branches, berries and faux roses – a warm candle sitting snugly in the centre.
The work in progress!
2: Delicious Dishes
It’s a good idea to plan the Christmas feast in advance, not only in order to begin picking up groceries, but also consider any dishes you can prep and freeze in advance!
3: Soak up the Atmosphere
Whether you’re visiting the lights in your local town or city, it’s nice to get out and about and get a feel for the season, even if you’re already done with the shopping.
4: A Visit to St. Nick
If the Santa letters have been finalised and sent, then it’s a safe bet to take the children to see Santa Claus!
5: Enjoy at Least One Seasonal Hot Chocolate/Coffee/Tea
A personal favourite? The Black Forest Hot Chocolate from Costa. Complete with whipped cream, of course! Coffee drinkers might enjoy the Gingerbread Latte and tea drinkers should definitely indulge in the Pukka Revitalise (only if you love cinnamon and ginger!).
